According to one source, Clerk Beran is
Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Statistics at the University of California, Davis. The
same source vouches for the following statement of Beran's interests:
"My research has intersected, more than once, directional
statistics, rank procedures, adaptation, robustness, bootstrap methods,
dimensional asymptotics, inference after model selection, random
coefficient regression models. I work currently on regularized projection
fits to multivariate response data, on estimation on manifolds, and on
several ill-defined problems."
